Alberta’s raw, expansive landscapes will unlock your sense of adventure.
Roam landscapes that inspire adventure
Head in any direction and you’ll find yourself imagining bagging peaks, running rivers, shredding singletrack or just exploring the land to your heart’s content. This is a wild, expansive place with room to really get out there.
Connect with stunning spaces
That feeling you get when you experience nature and feel equally calm and amazed? That happens a lot here.
From dancing northern lights to jagged peaks, open prairie to dense boreal forests, nature never ceases to astonish in Alberta. Chasing adrenaline takes on a whole new meaning, combining epic views with your favourite activities.
Get way out in nature
Chase your wildest adventure dreams, from hiking high alpine ridges to surfing standing river waves. The best part is, adventure here is as remote or as close-by as you want it to be, with options for all skill levels and tastes.
There’s no shortage of things to see and do, meaning you can load a trip itinerary and still not come close to seeing it all.
Your heart rate starts to climb. Is it adrenaline or the views?
For those who like challenging themselves, and for all who know the meaning of “type two fun” — Alberta’s landscapes provide the perfect backdrop for adventure sports enthusiasts. From the highest mountain peak, to the deepest, darkest caverns and everything in between, the only limits are your own.
Less experienced but game to try something new?
No matter your skill level, you’ll find Albertans to be friendly, welcoming, and always happy to stop and share their skills.
Epic multi-day adventures
Don’t forget your boots and backpack. Spend a week (or more!) surrounded by views of the Canadian Rockies with some of the best thru-hikes and out-and-back routes in the world. With well maintained hiking and backpacking trails and no shortage of scenic campgrounds, you’ll be glad you took the time to explore.
Did you know?
With four alpine huts and two major icefield crossings, the Wapta Traverse is Canada’s most famous backcountry skiing traverse.
